5 years ago, I joined Kiva.

The idea behind this, is essentially to loan money to borrowers, usually in developing countries, who then repay the loan over a set term and then you are free to loan your money out again to someone else or withdraw it.

Over the last 5 years my initial $200(USD) loan has provided $880 to 52 different people in 24 countries.

There are options to support specific causes that are close to your heart such as women, education, sanitation, food, eco friendly etc. Or maybe you wish to support a certain country?

I feel very strongly the need to do something good for the world right now. Helping others, empathising, loving each other and showing we care is the only way we can possibly move forward.

Today I have taken the step of creating a team called Replenish Refill and kickstarted it with $200. When you join our team and help fund a loan, we can all keep track of our collective impact as a community.

Note: This is essentially a crowdfunding platform but it is a loan rather than a donation. The minimum amount you can lend is $25USD.100% of every dollar you lend on Kiva goes to funding loans.
